Patients, Workers Panic As Fire Guts Lagos University Hospital, LASUTH Building

Fire on Wednesday engulfed a building on the premises of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in the Ikeja area of Lagos state.

Confirming the incident, the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, said that officials of the agency were mobilised to the scene and that the fire had been put out.
Adeseye said that “It is a minor fire and it has been put out. Expect an official statement soon.”
Weeks ago, the popular Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos was also on fire and it took the same efforts of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to put it out.
The agency’s director, Adeseye Margaret, had made this known in a situation report, noting that efforts were made to put out the inferno.
SaharaReporters had reported that the firefighters from Ojo, Sari-Iganmu and Ajegunle were said to have been prevented by an angry mob from putting out the fire.
