Omolewa is the former Secretary of the transport workers’ union in the state.

Oyo State government has announced the appointment of Alhaji Oluwatomiwa Omolewa as the new chairman of the Park Management System in the state.

Omolewa is the former Secretary of the transport workers’ union in the state.

Alhaji Kasali Ajisafe Lawal, aka Baba Bola, will be the new secretary of the union.

Governor Seyi Makinde through his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, recently dissolved the management of the PMS in the state.

This led some members of the union to curse one of the governor's aides, Otunba Seye Famojuro, in a video that went viral on social media last Monday.

The Nigeria Police Force later raided Diamond Hotel, Alakia, Ibadan, Oyo State, which belongs to the immediate past chairman of the PMS, Mukaila Lamidi, popularly called Auxiliary and recovered some guns, ammunition and charms.

A police source who was part of the operation informed SaharaReporters last Tuesday that Auxiliary fled when he saw the heavy presence of police in his hotel.

According to him, the raid followed information from credible sources that Auxiliary had concluded plans to cause unrest in Ibadan, the state capital following the dissolution of his committee.

The Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System (PMS) under the leadership of Auxiliary had been dissolved in a statement on Monday, May 29, 2023, saying the dissolution was with immediate effect.

The statement read, “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023.”

Auxiliary was an ally of Governor Seyi Makinde before the recent dissolution of the PMS committee.

Meanwhile, the police have declared Auxiliary wanted.
