He noted that President Tinubu who is in the ruling All Progressives Congress had not informed him of any appointment.

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said that he is not too big to serve Nigeria and that if President Bola Tinubu offers him an appointment, he will consult with his wife and friends.

Wike, who said this while speaking with BBC Pidgin, however, said that he wants to rest having served as a governor for eight years.

He noted that President Tinubu who is in the ruling All Progressives Congress had not informed him of any appointment.

But according to him, if the President does, he (Wike) will assess himself to know whether he is prepared.

He said, “I’m going to rest; I have worked for eight years, so I’m going to rest.

“Tinubu has not informed me about getting an appointment; I’m not too big to serve my country, but he has never told me that he would give me an appointment.

“If he asks me, the first thing I will do is ask my wife and friends what they think about it.

“I will also assess myself if I’m prepared. I will never do what I’m not ready for.”

Wike openly condemned the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the February 25th presidential poll. He reportedly worked for Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State.
