Members of the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly are currently electing their Speaker.
A roll call of the members-elect by states was earlier done before the voting exercise.
Tajudeen Abass from Kaduna State is the anointed candidate of the All Progressives Congress and the presidency.
Other contenders are Ahmed Idris Wase and Aminu Sani Jaji who are also members of the APC.
Earlier, Muktar Betara, Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Miriam Onuoha, and Sada Soli: aspirants for the Speakership all stepped down for the APC consensus candidate.
On Tuesday, the lawmakers were also allowed to bring a restricted people to accompany them.
