The management of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi State has contradicted itself in the confirmation of Bala Rabilu Kashure's Diploma Certificate.
A source within the institution, who preferred anonymity told SaharaReporters that Kashure, a House of Representatives member representing Jama'Are/Itas Gadau Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, has been accused of certificate forgery.
The source said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state dragged Kashure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to court over the alleged forgery of his Diploma Certificate which he claimed to have obtained from the defunct College of Administrative Studies (CAS), now Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, from the department of Public Administration between 2000 and 2002.

According to the source, on request by the PDP counsel to the school for verification of Kashure's certificate, the school in the first response on March 23, 2023, in a letter signed by the Head of Exams and Records, Kabir Inuwa Bakaro, stated that "Records available with the polytechnic therein do not have Bala Rabilu Kashure a graduate of Diploma in Public Administration in the year 2002."
However, the school in another verification letter on April 17, 2023 and signed by the Head of Exams and Records, Kabir Inuwa Bakaro, stated that "The above-name institution (Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi) hereby writes to attest that the bearer, Bala Rabilu Kashure with Reg. No. 2000/2103 was a student of the polytechnic from 2000-2002.
"However, the certificate and the transcripts issued to him are both genuine and authentic."
Meanwhile, the source revealed that many of Kashure's former classmates confirmed that the federal lawmaker attended the institution and therefore alleged that the state Governor, Bala Mohammed of PDP was behind school's initial denial of Kashure's certificate "in order to get favourable judgment from the court, because even the Dean of the defunct College of Administrative Studies confirmed that Kashure was a student of the school."
