Troops of Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army in the North East region of Nigeria have reportedly arrested a “high-profile terrorist spy and collaborator” identified as Bulama Suri.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, in a statement on Thursday, who made this known in a statement on Thursday said Suri was arrested on July 11.
The statement noted that Suri was a resident of Gaulawa and Gwazari villages in the Kukawa and Konduga Local Government Areas of Borno State.
Buba stated that upon arrest, the troops recovered from the terrorists items including food items and two cows.
“On 11 Jul 23, troops arrested a high-profile terrorist collaborator identified as Bulama Suri. He is a terrorist spy and collaborator residing at Gaulawa and Gwazari villages in Kukawa and Konduga Local Government Areas of Borno State. Items recovered from the terrorists were generally food item and 2 cows,” he said.
In another development, troops deployed at Sondi and Kente rescued a kidnapped victim on July 11 when they responded to information on suspected kidnapping activities at Chinkai Forest axis in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Buba however stated that the criminals fled before troops arrived but the troops exploited the general area and rescued one victim with injuries, who was rushed to a nearby Hospital for medical attention.
Meanwhile, Buba stated that in the course of the operations, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke recovered one AK-47 rifle, one fabricated pistol, one locally made pistol, one Pump action ammo, 14 rounds of 7.62mm special, one motorcycle, cartridge, one mobile phone, machete, axe, fake Nigerian Police ID card and the sum of N35,000.00 only.
