Nigeria's Dennis Osadebay University To Hold First Inaugural Lecture

The first inaugural lecture of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, Delta State has been fixed for August 31, 2023.

 

The event which will be held at Dennis Osadebay Main Auditorium, located in the hilly terrain of Anwai, Asaba, Delta State, would witness a historic event – the school's first ever inaugural lecture. 

 

According to the organisers of the event, the inaugural lecture would be delivered by erudite Professor Robert Oghenedoro Dode.  

 

Prof. Dode is a household name among the Political Science family. 

 

This scholar has a master's degree in Political Science, specialising in Public Administration, and a doctoral degree in Political Science. 

 

He is a writer with more than 50 well-researched publications to his name. He has also attended more than 50 national and international academic conferences.

 

In addition, Prof. Dode, who is currently the Dean, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, has served in numerous capacities since he took on his first lecturing appointment in 2003. He is an executive member of the Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA).

 

An indigene of Jesse, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Prof. Dode’s lecture captioned ‘Scramble For The Black Gold And Rumbles In Nigeria’s Niger Delta: Yesterday, Today And…?’ discusses from a first-hand standpoint, the paradox of want in the midst of abundance. 

 

More so, the lecture will explore the latent and underlying factors behind the continued rumble in the Niger Delta and also present a blueprint for a lasting solution.
