The police in Anambra State, southwest Nigeria say their operatives have busted an armed robbery syndicate that specialised in attacking and vandalising trucks belonging to Dangote Group in the state.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police spokesperson who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday said that three members of the armed robbery syndicate were arrested by the command.
Ikenga stated that the police while acting on a tip-off, stormed the hideout of the syndicate in the Nnokwa area of the state where the three suspects were arrested while vandalising two trucks.
He added that the vandalised part of one of the trucks was recovered while the whereabouts of the second one were yet to be ascertained.
"Suspects were taken into custody for interrogation. The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has directed State CID Awka to take over the case for comprehensive investigation and prosecution of anyone indicted in the crime," the police spokesperson said.
