The coalition lamented that the 103 casualties scheduled for mass burial were among Nigerian compatriots "who were massacred in October 2020 by the agents of government because they protested against police brutality.

The Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria (GCSDN), has petitioned the International Criminal Court (ICC) demanding prosecution of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and former Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammed over the mass burial of 103 #EndSARS casualties scheduled by the Lagos State government.
The coalition lamented that the 103 casualties scheduled for mass burial were among Nigerian compatriots "who were massacred in October 2020 by the agents of government because they protested against police brutality.
"Now, the government is planning to give the victims mass burial. This is a clear case of crime against humanity," GCSDN said.
The coalition, which has also initiated an online petition that has garnered 47 signatures at the time of filing this report, also asked the ICC to prosecute the former.
The Coalition in a statement by one of its leaders, Frederick Odorige, questioned why the Nigerian government and the Lagos State government denied that #EndSARS protesters were not killed.
GCSDN said that the court should prosecute Buhari because he was the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces who superintended over all security matters when "many of the atrocities and crimes against humanity took place in the country," but "He shuttled between Nigeria and the United Kingdom."
Also, "Lt. General Yusuf Tukur Buratai - was former Chief of Army Staff whose office directed operations of the Nigerian army that massacred protesters. He was also involved in the massacre of around 300 members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in December 2015.
"The Shia Muslims were buried in mass graves in Zaria, Nigeria. In order to aid him to escape justice, Buratai was quickly appointed by the former President Muhammadu Buhari, as Nigeria's ambassador to the Republic of Benin - as a way of enjoying immunity from prosecution.
"Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu - the Lagos State Governor who invited the soldiers that opened fire at the unarmed protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos Nigeria, 20 October 2020."
The coalition recalled that live video of the killing operation was released by CNN on November 23, 2020.
GCSDN said that Lai Mohammed should be prosecuted because he "propagated falsehood and in compromise, used his office to conspiratorially deny the massacre. He is currently an appointee and managing partner of Ballard Partners, Abuja Nigeria.
"If the killers of protesters and their accomplices are not brought to book, more Nigerians will be killed for protesting and the rights of the people would be completely taken away."
