Trouble started shortly after they forced the main gate open and marched toward the second gate which was thrown open by the security agents to avoid a clash and further destruction.

There was a commotion at the National Assembly in Abuja on Wednesday as members of organised labour insisted on entering the National Assembly chambers to meet and present their demands to their leaders.

Trouble started shortly after they forced the main gate open and marched toward the second gate which was thrown open by the security agents to avoid a clash and further destruction.

Upon getting to the entrance of the building popularly called 'White House,’ the protesters attempted to force their way into the chambers but were resisted by armed security operatives.

The situation led to an altercation as protesters began chanting: ‘We Must Go In, We Must Go In.’

The security agents had a hectic time controlling the crowd as they vowed to force their way into the building.

Meanwhile, the situation was later brought under control when the labour leaders prevailed on the crowd to push back.

Normalcy has returned at the time of filing this report and the Deputy Leader of the Senate, Ali Ndume is about to address the protesters.
