Sit-At-Home: Nigerian Police Vow To Support Injured Officers, Flush Out Miscreants

The police commissioner gave the assurance on Wednesday when he visited the two police officers to boost the morale of personnel.

 

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has assured two officers of the state police command who were injured on Monday during a clash with hoodlums enforcing the illegal sit-at-home in the State that the police will not abandon them.

The police commissioner gave the assurance on Wednesday when he visited the two police officers to boost the morale of personnel.

Recall that a joint team of soldiers, policemen, men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and vigilantes, had dislodged fighters who were allegedly members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from their hideouts in Anambra on Monday.

SaharaReporters reported that the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, said in a statement on Tuesday that five soldiers and two policemen were injured by the Improvised Explosives Devices reportedly detonated by the alleged IPOB fighters.

On CP Adeoye’s visit to the injured officers, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement said that the commissioner also made cash donation to the officers, while he assured the people of the state that the command is determined to flush out criminals in the state.

“Today (Wednesday), the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command, Aderemi Adeoye, visited two police operatives, who sustained injuries on 31/7/2023 during a joint security force onslaught against insurgents in a criminal camp at Orsumoghu.

“The visit is to boost the morale of officers while discharging their duties with the assurance that their welfare is of paramount importance to the leadership of the Force.

“He made a cash donation to the officers and prayed for their quick recovery while assuring them that the police would not abandon or leave them behind.

“The CP also assured the good people of Anambra that the command is more determined than ever to flush out the miscreants in the state and make the entire state safer for law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses.”
