Gunmen Suspected To Be Terrorists Invade Palace Of Nigerian Monarch, Kidnap Emir Of Gurku, Wife In Nasawara

This was stated in a press statement released by the police spokesman in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who said the criminals invaded the palace of the Emir, located 10 km away from the main town of Gurku in the Karu local government area of the state.

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the invasion of the Emir of Gurku’s palace in Nasarawa State by suspected terrorists who kidnapped the traditional ruler, Jubril Mohammed and his wife on Sunday evening. 

This was stated in a press statement released by the police spokesman in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who said the criminals invaded the palace of the Emir, located 10 km away from the main town of Gurku in the Karu local government area of the state.

Nansel stated that after getting the information, the state commissioner of police, Baba Maiyaki, dispatched a joint team of agents to the area to coordinate with vigilantes.

Nansel went on to say that the nearby shrubs and mountains had been searched, but all efforts to find the abductees had been futile.

He said that the commissioner of police has also sent more officers from the tactical team, the anti-kidnapping unit, and the Karu area command to assist in the search.

According to him, attempts are being made to save the Emir and his wife unharmed.

The statement added that the police are determined to rescue them and combat the scourge in the state.
