The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that the incident happened at Yelwa ward in the Mubi North Local Government Area of the state on August 27, 2023.
A Nigerian man, 63, Aminu Mahdi, has confessed to have murdered his wife, Hadiza Zubuchi 43, for refusing to have sexual relationship with him in Adamawa State.
SaharaReporters learnt that Mahdi, a retired staff of Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), clubbed his wife to death after she reportedly denied him sexual intercourse for undisclosed reasons.
The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that the incident happened at Yelwa ward in the Mubi North Local Government Area of the state on August 27, 2023.
Spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed Mahdi's arrest to SaharaReporters on Friday, saying, "He has confessed to have committed the crime.
"The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola had ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to carry out thorough investigation."
While narrating how it happened, Mahdi said, "I returned home on the ill-fated night at about 9:00pm, after dinner my wife refused to let me into her bed.
"She repeatedly hit me with a stick but I succeeded in collecting the stick with which I eventually hit her to death. I regret my actions because we had been married since April 17, 2016."
