Tribunal Verdict: Nigerian Constitution Turned Upside Down By Judges Who Lack Sense Of History, Says Dele Momodu
September 7, 2023

He called on Nigerians of good conscience to have pity for the political system and not anger, saying the country shall definitely be free.

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has lambasted the five-man panel of judges of the 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal for affirming President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

The Tribunal headed by Justice Haruna Tsammani, on Wednesday, trashed the petitions filed by Peter Obi and its party, Labour Party (LP); Atiku Abubakar and its party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

It upheld the declaration of Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Reacting to the tribunal judgment, Momodu on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, said the judges, who according to him, lack a sense of history and care less about the verdict of history, brazenly and deliberately turned the Nigerian constitution upside down.

He called on Nigerians of good conscience to have pity for the political system and not anger, saying the country shall definitely be free.

He wrote, "I watched in utter amazement and wonderment how our Constitution was brazenly and deliberately turned upside down by those who lack a sense of history and care less about the verdict of history... What all men and women of good conscience should have for them is pity and not anger... NIGERIA SHALL BE FREE..."
