Baba-Ahmed, Labour Party VP Candidate’s Brother, Joins Tinubu Government, Appointed As Special Adviser

Datti Baba-Ahmed was the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 election.

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, elder brother of Datti Baba-Ahmed, has been appointed by the President Bola Tinubu’s government to serve as the special adviser on political matters to Vice-President Kashim Shettima.

Datti Baba-Ahmed was the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 election.

Hakeem, the elder brother is also the spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF).
Baba-Ahmed announced the development in a post on Monday on his official Twitter page.

 

He said now is not the time for fence-sitting or criticism and urged Nigerians to pray for him and the country.

“It is time to make it public that I have accepted the call to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP, @KShettim,” he said.

“This is not the time for fence-sitting or criticism when you can be useful in turning the country round. I am honoured and humbled. Please pray for me & Nigeria.”

Datti and his principal, Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party have headed to the Supreme Court to challenge the electoral victory of Bola Tinubu.

Obi and the Labour Party are at the Supreme Court alongside the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. Both of them are laying claim to victory at the presidential polls in February.
