Preliminary investigation revealed that the accident was a result of excessive speeding, leading to loss of control.
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Thursday rescued a woman, her two children and their driver who were involved in an auto accident.
The children were on their way to school when their Toyota Sienna minibus was involved in an accident in the Ajah area of Lagos.
Lastma Odumbo Ekundayo 'Bravo' (Zone 14) confirmed that the accident which involved a Fiat Pick-up van (SMK 297 GD) and a Sienna minibus (LSR 105 HW) occurred around 7:30 am at Salau junction after Jakande 1st gate inward Chisco along Lekki-Ajah Expressway.

Lastma Ekundayo confirmed further that the four victims rescued from the accident scene were rushed to a nearby hospital by the husband of the woman after he was contacted with the help of Lastma officials at the accident scene, in a statement issued by Adebayo Taofiq, Director, LASTMA Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department.
He disclosed that the two vehicles involved in the accident were handed over to policemen from Ilasan police station by Jakande along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway who were also at the accident scene.
The General Manager of LASTMA Mr Bolaji Oreagba however called on drivers – private and commercial – to always minimize their speed whenever they are driving on the expressway.
