SaharaReporters reported on Monday that the Lagos Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal dismissed the petitions filed by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and the Labour Party and Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor of the Peoples Democratic Party, challenging the victory of Sanwo-Olu in the election.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 governorship election in Lagos state, Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran has given three conditions for accepting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s call for unity.

Jandor had contested the results of the governorship election, challenging the victory of Sanwo-Olu and Dr Obafemi Hamzat.

Hailing the judgement of the Lagos Election Petition Tribunal, which came in favour of the All Progressives Congress, the governor described the tribunal’s verdict as “well thought-out and detailed.”

The governor who spoke through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, pleaded with Jandor of the PDP and Rhodes-Vivour of the LP to show sportsmanship and join hands with his government to transform Lagos State.

"I still want to allow opposition parties’ candidates that contested against us to join hands with us if they share the same passion and commitment that we have to serve. We are ready to sit with them and have a conversation about what ways they can channel their ideas in the development of the State. Lagos is big and its challenges are real, while its opportunities are boundless. There is always room for everybody to contribute,” Sanwo-Olu said.

But reacting to Sanwo-Olu's call, Jandor said he was ready to honour it but on condition that Mr Sanwo-Olu demonstrates honour and respect for the citizens of Lagos by telling them the reason for the “discrepancies” in the names on his original West African Senior School Certificate Examination results and why he opposed his application to do a forensic audit of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) back-end server.

Jandor, who shared his position on his X (formerly Twitter) handle wrote: "I just read now that Governor Sanwoolu, in a statement after yesterday's judgement that gave him yet another temporary victory, is calling for a sit down with me so as to move Lagos forward.

"I welcome this call, and I am ready to honour it upon Mr. Sanwoolu’s demonstration of honour and respect for the citizens of Lagos by doing the following:

"Make public his 1981 Original WAEC Certificate since he deposed under oath in his INEC form EC9 that he sat for GCE O level in that year.

"He must, in a state-wide broadcast, tell Lagosians why the discrepancies in names on WAEC statement of result he presented to INEC and the ones that appear on same 1981 Master list that WAEC tendered at the tribunal, despite same exam number, exam year, exam centres, but different names.

"Explain why you ask your lawyers to oppose our application to do a forensic audit of the WAEC back-end server for further verification."

He added, "I am positive that these are easily doable and won't take any time at all to effect.

"We must uphold the core tenets of integrity and accountability, especially as people sworn to the service of the public."
