Wike, during a meeting with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum led by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed on Wednesday in Abuja also said it was ridiculous for anyone to say his rift with Governor Fubara was over money.
Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has accused his successor, Siminalayi Fubara of associating with his political enemies after getting into office.
Wike, during a meeting with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum led by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed on Wednesday in Abuja also said it was ridiculous for anyone to say his rift with Governor Fubara was over money.
As recorded by Channels TV, Wike said blaming the issue on money was ridiculous because he recently left office as Rivers State governor and was now the Federal Capital Territory Minister.
Mohammed was at the meeting alongside Governor Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), and Governor Kefas Agbu (Taraba) over the political situation in Rivers State.
Wike was quoted as saying, “Yes, we have talked about the crisis in the state but let me tell anybody who cares: nobody can intimidate me, nobody. It doesn’t matter whether you go and bring thugs on the road, it doesn’t matter whether you are Ijaw, if I want to do something, I will do it. Impeachment is not a military coup; impeachment is provided under the Constitution.
I’m not interested in all the rumours – money this, that is rubbish. Absolutely rubbish. I just left office how many months ago. I’m an FCT minister. Which money?

All those things, I’m not perturbed. The President is our father; he has spoken, we will see where it takes us.”
Wike insisted that his “conscience is clear”.
Moves by the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach Governor Fubara by lawmakers loyal to Wike failed during the week, leading to a security beef-up at the Assembly Complex.
