BREAKING: Kidnapped Chief Of Staff To Adamawa Speaker Freed After Payment Of Undisclosed Amount

Family sources told SaharaReporters that Sahabi was released after the payment of an undisclosed amount as ransom.

Usman Sahabi, the abducted Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, has been freed.

Family sources told SaharaReporters that Sahabi was released after the payment of an undisclosed amount as ransom.

“An amount was paid by the family to secure Sahabi’s release but I cannot disclose it,” one of the family sources said.

SaharaReporters on November 2, 2023, reported the abduction of Sahabi by gunmen.  Sahabi was the correspondent for Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation at the state House of Assembly before he was appointed Chief of Staff to the Speaker.

Sahabi was released on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Press Secretary to the Speaker, Hyelamada Barnard, who confirmed it to SaharaReporters.

 

"Yes, I can confirm Sahabi has been released but I have no information on whether any ransom was paid," Barnard said.
