He promised residents of Kano State that their responsible government has returned and urged them not to be afraid as the judgement has come to stay.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) has applauded the judgement of the Court of Appeal that upheld the decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Kano State that sacked Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP).
APC Kano State chapter chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, who spoke on Saturday in an interview, said the Appeal Court judgment was a victory for the victims of demolition by Governor Yusuf of NNPP-led administration.
He promised residents of Kano State that their responsible government has returned and urged them not to be afraid as the judgement has come to stay.
“I am happy to inform all those that fall victims of demolition by the NNPP administration at Eid ground, Salanta, and other places that this is their victory, and their saviour has arrived," he stated.
“We assure the people of Kano that their responsible government has returned, so they have nothing to fear.”
SaharaReporters reported on Friday that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Friday affirmed the tribunal’s verdict, declaring the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, as the winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election.
But reacting to the judgement, the APC chairman said that the victory is a clear indication that their party won the election at the initial stage.
Abbas, however, advised APC supporters to continue to conduct themselves peacefully, and accordingly with the aim of having a peaceful society.
While commenting on the move of the NNPP to drag the matter before the Supreme Court, the APC chairman noted that they have the assurance of winning the case even at the Supreme Court with the evidence on ground.
