SaharaReporters earlier reported how Fatima regained her freedom on Sunday after spending over 45 days in the terrorists’ den.

At least six female students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, and the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria are still in terrorists’ den, SaharaReporters has gathered.

For Katsina, four students still in captivity are identified as Bello Fatima Zara, and Adam Rahmatallahi from Kwara State, and two others from Niger and Kano states respectively were not released on Sunday together when their colleague, Muhammad Fatima Ruqqayat, was freed.

SaharaReporters earlier reported how Fatima regained her freedom on Sunday after spending over 45 days in the terrorists’ den.

Ruqqayat’s uncle, Muhammad Taoheed had revealed to SaharaReporters that the female student was released after the terrorists collected over N4million ransom from the family and the school management.

SaharaReporters on Tuesday learnt further that Fatima is currently with the state security operatives but all efforts to get the other four students released have not yet been successful.

“The terrorists are still holding the four other students to protect themselves. The security has been able to track their location but the terrorists are afraid if they release the students, the security men will be able to attack them freely,” a source privy to the incident told SaharaReporters.

Likewise, SaharaReporters learnt that two female students of the Federal University of Gusau, Zamfara State are still in terrorists’ captivity.

These students; Hafsat Ibrahim, a final-year student of Biology Education and Zainab Abubakar were among several students of the university that were kidnapped by terrorists during an invasion sixty days ago.

Hafsat and Zainab’s current situation was confirmed to SaharaReporters on Tuesday during a telephone conversation with her relative.

Recall that SaharaReporters reported how suspected terrorists invaded the hostels of these universities and kidnapped several female students.
