Nigerian Police Arrest Adamawa Man For Killing Uncle Accused Of Practising Witchcraft

A 42-year-old man, John Clarkson, has been arrested and arraigned by the Nigerian police in Adamawa State for allegedly murdering his uncle, Mohammed Clarkson, accused of practising witchcraft in the state.

Clarkson allegedly clubbed the deceased with a stick which resulted to his untimely demise contrary to section 191 of the Adamawa State Penal Code Law.

He has been arrested, charged to court and remanded in prison custody by Magistrate Alheri Ishaku, SaharaReporters learnt.

After issuing the remand order, Magistrate Ishaku adjourned the case to January 4, 2024 to enable the prosecuting police officer transmit case diary to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

However, the defendant had vehemently denied murdering his uncle, Mohammed Clarkson, who was accused of killing people by witchcraft.
