The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the Nigeria Police Force to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of a 300-level student of Ebonyi State University, Ayogu Evans, who had an accident and died while being chased by policemen.

SaharaReporters learnt that Evans died in a ghastly car crash on Saturday, December 2.

The student of the Department of Sociology was allegedly chased by the policemen when he had the accident and was rushed to the hospital by passersby but was confirmed dead a few hours later.

NANS in a statement on Tuesday by its newly elected President, Pedro Obi said all security operatives found culpable in the death of Evan, be punished according to the law of the land.

Obi said the student body would resist any attempt to cover up evidence in the investigation of the student’s death, adding that the Ebonyi command should produce the suspected policemen.
