The Israel Defence Forces troops have paraded dozens of captured Hamas militants in Gaza.

This was seen in footage shared by Israeli media on their various social media platforms showing that the captured militants were stripped to their underwear, bound and lined up on their knees.

According to Mail Online, the men purportedly surrendered at the Jabalia refugee camp and other parts of northern Gaza, with Israeli site Walla reporting that they were stripped "to rule out the possibility that they were carrying weapons."

Hundreds of hostages are said to have been paraded around Gaza City's Palestine Square, with shoes and sandals scattered across the pavement in one image.

When asked about the images, Mail Online reports that the IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari also seemed to confirm that the men had been taken prisoner but did not clarify whether those pictured were members of Hamas or civilians.

Daniel Hagari added that the Israeli troops had detained and interrogated hundreds of people in Gaza suspected of militant links.

Hagari was quoted saying: “Jabalia and Shejaiya are 'centres of gravity'... for terrorists, and we are fighting them.

“They are hiding underground and come out and we fight them. Whoever is left in those areas, they come out from tunnel shafts, and some from buildings, and we investigate who is linked to Hamas, and who isn't. We arrest them all and interrogate them.”

On Wednesday afternoon, the Walla news outlet said that Israeli soldiers from the 261st Reserve Brigade had arrested those in the images and were 'investigating' them.

It was learned that those arrested were not anticipated to be sent to Israel but rather probed in Gaza "because there is a possibility that the suspects are innocent people living in a humanitarian shelter nearby."

Speculations say the guys were apprehended in UN-run schools in the territory's north.

According to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, its correspondent Diaa Al-Kahlout was detained and taken to an unknown place.

Israeli forces have encircled major urban areas in an attempt to destroy Hamas after its extraordinary attack on October 7, when terrorists pushed through Gaza's militarised border to kill around 1,200 people and kidnap 138 captives, according to Israeli data.

Since Israel began bombarding the small enclave in response, more than 17,170 Palestinians have been killed and 46,000 wounded, according to the Gaza health ministry.
