Nigeria’s 109 senators have donated their December salaries to the victims of the military bombing in Tudun Biri, in the Igabi Local Government Area of the Kaduna State.

Jibrin Barau, the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, made the announcement when the Senate leadership paid a condolence visit to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani at the Government House.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Nigerian Army had claimed responsibility for the bombing which happened on Sunday, December 3 where scores of civilians were killed.
The army said the bombing was targeted at insurgents but mistakenly killed the civilians.
Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has vowed to get justice for the civilians killed by military bombing.
The Sultan of Sokoto - the spiritual leader of Nigerian Muslims - made the vow to get justice for the bombing victims on Friday while speaking at the Silver Anniversary of the 11th Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Muhammad Isa-Muhammad, at the Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan, Kaduna.
He noted that the occasion was not only meant for celebration but to offer prayers for those killed during the bombing on the people of Tudun Biri while celebrating Maulud.
“We are here not only to celebrate the Emir but to also pray for the emirate and the lives of those killed in Kaduna State. We are going to push for it until justice is served to the people,” he said.
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, said the incident was regrettable.
“Our duty is to protect the citizens. We are going to take serious action to make sure something like this is not going to happen again anywhere in the country. The president has ordered a thorough investigation on it,” he said.
