TB Joshua, as he was popularly known, was a controversial and influential pastor, whose church is based in the Ikotun area of Lagos State.

Mr Agomoh Paul, one of the closest associates of the late Nigerian prophet, Temitope Balogun Joshua, leader and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, has revealed how the late charismatic pastor manipulated white men and women to achieve his evil genius.
TB Joshua, as he was popularly known, was a controversial and influential pastor, whose church is based in the Ikotun area of Lagos State.
The cleric died on June 5, 2021, at the aged 57.
Before his death, he was the subject of several controversies owing to his methods and healings. He claimed to work miracles, including raising the dead and healing the sick.
Agomoh, who gave the revelations in a BBC documentary, titled: "Disciple: The Cult Of TB Joshua," explained that in the early days of TB Joshua, he invested over 90 percent of what they realised in producing VHS videos of miracles and wonders that were sent to South Africa and oversees to capture white men and women to come to his church.
Narrating his encounter with the late Joshua, Agomoh who said he was second to him said that he saw himself like God because of extraordinary things he did.
"Joshua invested more than 90 percent of what we got in VHS videos. The law he give to cameramen is record everything. So many videos. He came with something different, something unusual, things that were never in Christendom. The whole world has never seen this before.
"If you place God and Him I will put both of them together. He was like a God to me. When you talk of loyalty I gave him all. I loved him so much. My relatives, my siblings, my father, my mother everybody meant nothing to me. I was very close to him. I was just like the number two in the Synagogue Church of All Nations. There are certain things he told me personally, that I know many of his disciples never knew.
"He knows exactly what he wanted to achieve. He had special interest on Oyibo - the whites. He would always say "Are you surprised that God is using a black man to do all these things? Sorry, I am sorry. I'm not surprised that God is using a black man. Never ever have I seen the power of God manifest like it is here.”
"In 1996 one of the major pastors came from South Africa, when they were leaving he gave some of them 200 VHS videos to take home to give to people. Videos of miracles, videos of confessions, videos that would fill their head. I said this is expensive oh! He laughed. "You think I'm a fool. I know what I'm doing. A time will come when this Synagogue Church is going to shoot out from South Africa to the whole world" he said.
Agomoh explained that the Synagogue Church of All Nations became widely known after foreigners began to flood the church.
"The greatest thing that pumped the Synagogue Church was when the foreigners started coming. This was strategic and it was planned. Each one that goes home tries to contact his brothers, contact friends in US, contact those in UK.
"Things started changing fast, started moving on the fast lane. He knew there will be explosion. You see long queues. Hundreds of people. Visitors are coming. Whites are coming. It's something huge. Those who came from UK for the first time he paid their ticket. Those who came from America, he paid. Every part of the world, he was paying. That guy is a genius. These things were not happening as a shock to him. Everything he does is planned. He planned it out."
Explained that Late Joshua called him one day and said, "Agomoh I need to make these white people my disciples", adding that the whites didn't come to Nigeria to become disciples.”
"The whites they didn't come to become disciples is when they got to the Synagogue Church that is when the manipulation starts. Some intelligent disciples are being sent to stalk on the whites. It's not everybody that you will approach. We look at you and when we see the way you fall into what is happening at Synagogue Church we'll come after you," he revealed.
"We don't go for the old people. The young ones, they are very vulnerable and they are easy people to manipulate especially unmarried people. Especially unmarried young people; he tells them, "Let me tell you, he's going to open branches in UK, in America and everywhere. He's not going to send us to go there, you are the person that'll go there". Make them to begin to crave to be disciples, begin to surrender their lives to Joshua."
Also speaking in the documentary, a woman who claimed to be the Coordinator of the International visitors in the Synagogue Church of All the Nations, also revealed that the Westerners never saw what was coming their way they were being manipulated.
"The spiritual power of TB Joshua hypnotizes people, and affects people's minds. I thought it could be an angle of something," she said.

"When he (TB Joshua) looked into my eyes, his sight pieced into my subconscious. His eyes were enchanting to the extent I wanted to cry. He can deliver somebody with an evil spirit just with a single sentence.
"He was going somewhere but where he was going to, the Westerners didn't know. For TB Joshua, it was a game and a trap that he set for the white people. I was Coordinator of the International visitors. Any time these visitors come, TB Joshua would call and say, "go and meet your visitors". We will make you fill like celebrity - that you are so important.
"They don't know we are picking them. But myself and TB Joshua we know what we were doing. He loves young ones, right? He loves young ones, teenagers.
"He said, "Tell them that they should be missionaries for the Synagogue. You stay here three months you become like TB Joshua".
"When Rachel came, Rachel was behaving like a boy. Walking like a boy, he said "that girl, why don't you ask her to stay here?" she was happy," she narrated.
The woman also narrated that she was drawn close to Joshua because she needed "spiritual guidance." She, however, noted that late Controversial cleric made her feel that "I am important in the kingdom of God. I lived there as one of the closest disciples. A loyalist to the core."
