Nabeeha’s killing has sparked outrage in the country as Nigerians on social media are lamenting the escalating insecurity in the country.

Former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, has announced that one of his friends has volunteered to donate the sum of N50 million as part of fundraising for the ransom demanded by kidnappers for the release of five sisters of the late Naheeba Al-Kadriyar, killed by their abductors.

Nabeeha, her five sisters and their father were abducted by kidnappers in their residence in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), but she (Naheeba) was unfortunately killed on Saturday by the kidnappers who are said to have demanded the sum of N60 million ransom for their release.

Nabeeha’s killing has sparked outrage in the country as Nigerians on social media are lamenting the escalating insecurity in the country.

A fundraising campaign to raise money for ransom to secure the release of Naheeba’s five sisters still in their abductors’ den was launched as the kidnappers were said to have threatened to also kill them.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Pantami expressed his reservation about victims paying ransom to criminals but noted that Naheeba’s death and the lives of her five siblings in the kidnappers’ den had made the situation imperative for the ransom to be paid.

He wrote, “Alhamdu lil Laah! I am personally not in support of paying ransom to criminals. However, since it becomes clear, we lost our daughter Nabeeha yesterday, and the 5 remaining daughters have been threatened, as I spoke with the father on the matter yesterday and today.

“Furthermore, I spoke with a friend and a brother who offered to pay the remaining 50 million Naira of the 60m immediately.

“I conveyed the account number of the father of pur daughters, Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, to the friend and brother to send the money directly.

“Any additional amount earlier generated from yesterday, the father can use to treat the daughters and other family members in sha Allah.

“May the Almighty Allah reward the brother and friend with Jannatul Firdaus for the donation. May He also reward all those who contributed in any way with Jannatul Firdaus, too.

“May He also forgive Nabeeha and rescue her sisters. May the Almighty also help our security agencies to bring an end to these challenges. May Nigeria be a better place for all of us.”
