Wike has come under severe criticisms from several residents and opinion groups which castigated him for being more concerned with Rivers State politics than the FCT over which he was made minister.

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is currently holding a high profile security meeting with security heads in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

It was gathered the emergency meeting was sequel to the incessant rate of kidnappings and killings of residents of the nation’s capital by terrorists, locally dubbed as bandits.

Wike has come under severe criticisms from several residents and opinion groups which castigated him for being more concerned with Rivers State politics than the FCT over which he was made minister.

On Sunday as terrorists ravaged Bwari and Dutse areas, the FCT minister, Wike was in Rivers State, nosing around on the affairs of the Governor Siminalayi Fubara-led state government.

SaharaReporters had reported that during a thanksgiving service organised in Omoku, Rivers State, on Sunday, Wike had declared that he bought nomination forms for Fubara and every politician holding elective positions in the state.

According to him, he begged other governorship aspirants including former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party to step down for him to make Fubara governor.

The Nation reports that in attendance at the ongoing emergency security meeting in the FCT were the Area Council Chairmen, to who Wike issued a directive to enhance their efforts and address the challenge.
