The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has again lashed out at the area council chairmen in the FCT, saying that any chairman who fails to hold the monthly security meeting will be viewed as a security threat.

The former Rivers governor who stated this at a town hall meeting in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) condemned any chairman who decided to abandon the meeting because of non-payment of security stipends.

“How will you say you are not holding a monthly security meeting because you don’t have stipend? Henceforth, any chairman who fails to hold such meeting will be seen as a threat to security,” the minister was quoted.
He stated that the Administration would do all possible to assist security personnel.

Earlier, AMAC chairman Christopher Maikalagiu praised Wike for "developmental projects that he has been executing since he assumed office.”
