A revolutionary activist, Francis Nwapa, has asked the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, to lead a strong voice against the failed policies implemented by the President Bola Tinubu-led government which had caused economic hardships to the citizens of the country.

The activist said this in a statement issued on Saturday, saying Ajaero should act according to his words before he was elected as the Labour Union President.

The statement noted that Joe Ajaero's administration was not different from his predecessors who failed to speak against bad governance and systematic failure in the country.

The statement reads in part: “Has the NLC become formidable under Joe Ajaero's Leadership or has he further plugged workers into delusional state and lack of will to fight their oppressors?

“Has Joe Ajaero's Leadership looked into the KRISTON LALLY scam since emergence?

“Ajaero is not ideologically different from Adams Oshiomhole, Abdulwaheed Umar, Ayuba Wabba, but only wanted to occupy NLC leadership without the readiness to lead the mass of the working people to struggle against oppression and ultimately take power from the thieving ruling elites.

“In the face of a completely collapsed economy where it's difficult for families to feed a day, (Multidimensional poverty), collapsed health care, Education, Power, infrastructure, free fall of Naira against other currencies etc you would expect that an Ajaero who fought so much to occupy NLC leadership will mobilise the workers to take back the country from looters, but No, he appears to be in Solidarity with the looters enabling the assault he suffered in Imo State.

“Joe Ajaero must rise now and lead workers to fight back all anti-people's policies of the Tinubu/APC government that has made life unbearable for citizens or stand the risk of being consumed in a spontaneous mass action independent of NLC leadership,” the statement added.
