According to a video footage seen by SaharaReporters, the teenage girl who said she hails from Umuolue area of the state, said that she was at home with her brother when the four security men stormed their house and kidnapped her but her brother escaped from the car that the abductors came with.
Residents of Mbano in Imo State, South-East region of Nigeria have apprehended three security officials alleged to have kidnapped and raped a 15-year-old girl.
According to a video footage seen by SaharaReporters, the teenage girl who said she hails from Umuolue area of the state, said that she was at home with her brother when the four security men stormed their house and kidnapped her but her brother escaped from the car that the abductors came with.
She said that she and her brother were in their house when they came “but my brother escaped from the car. All of them were inside the car. The other one raped me two times.”
From the video, it was gathered that the suspects operated with a gun as the local men who caught them kept asking "where is the gun" while physically torturing them.
One of the mobs said that one of the suspects looked familiar. They further revealed in the video that the raped girl is a daughter of a traditional ruler whose identity was not disclosed.
However, efforts to confirm the incident from the police failed as the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye did not answer several phone calls made to him nor respond to text and WhatsApp messages sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
