SaharaReporters earlier reported that the abducted pupils of the Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primary School in Emure Ekiti, who were kidnapped alongside some of their teachers on Monday by gunmen, had regained their freedom.
The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that the school pupils and their teachers who were recently kidnapped by gunmen in the Emure-Ekiti area of Ekiti State in the South West region of Nigeria were rescued unhurt.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that the abducted pupils of the Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primary School in Emure Ekiti, who were kidnapped alongside some of their teachers on Monday by gunmen, had regained their freedom.
The pupils and the other abductees regained their freedom on Sunday morning, SaharaReporters learnt from a government source.

SaharaReporters on Monday reported the abduction.
According to a video seen by SaharaReporters, sources had said the children were kidnapped after school hours on their way to Eporo Ekiti in their school bus.
Confirming the rescue of the abductees, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a short statement said that the kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt.
He thanked joint security forces including police operatives, Amotekun corps, local vigilantes, hunters and families of the victims for their efforts.
The force spokesperson wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Ekiti: We wish to inform the general public that the five school children, including their teachers, who were kidnapped on 29/01/2024 in Emure-Ekiti, have been rescued unhurt, today 4th February, 2024.
“We therefore commend and appreciate the efforts of the government, our Police operatives and other security agencies, including the Amotekun Corps, local vigilantes, hunters, and individuals, as well as family members, for their understanding and resilience.”
