The Finland-based Biafra Nation agitator and proclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government-in-Exile (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa, in a Saturday night post on his X handle, claimed that Powerful was arrested in Ghana earlier that day.

Emma Powerful, the Media and Publicity Secretary of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has denied claims that he was arrested in Ghana.

The Finland-based Biafra Nation agitator and proclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government-in-Exile (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa, in a Saturday night post on his X handle, claimed that Powerful was arrested in Ghana earlier that day.

Ekpa, who has been denounced on several occasions to the authorities by IPOB, wrote, “BREAKING: The Criminal Emma powerful has been arrested in Ghana today.”

However, in an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters on the phone on Sunday, Powerful denied Ekpa’s claim.

Powerful, who questioned if he would be able to answer calls and hold an interview with the media organisation, said that Ekpa had lost his relevance and was only seeking attention and a way to trend online.

“It is a big lie. Don’t mind someone who has lost his relevance and because nobody gives him attention again, he is just looking for attention. If Emma Powerful is in their midst, will they know him?

“I just sent out a press release before your call came in. If I am arrested, will I be releasing a press statement? Just forget Ekpa and whatever he is saying,” Powerful said.
