The destination of the articulated vehicles were given as N'Djamena, the capital of the Republic of Chad, Cameroon and Central Africa.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have impounded 21 trucks loaded with grains in Borno State which were on their way to neighbouring countries.

The destination of the articulated vehicles were given as N'Djamena, the capital of the Republic of Chad, Cameroon and Central Africa.

Operatives of the anti graft agency in Maiduguri, intercepted the trucks on Tuesday in separate raids on international exit routes in Kalabari/Gamboru Ngala and Bama areas.

It is believed that smuggling foodstuffs out of the country has partly contributed to the hardship and cost living in the country.

All persons arrested with the trucks would be prosecuted after a thorough investigation, the officials said.
