Armed Robbers Raid Commercial Banks In Kogi State

A group of armed robbers on Thursday reportedly raided two commercial banks in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
 
 
It was learnt that there were indiscriminate shootings, with multiple banks targeted in the robbery.
 
 
The heist operation was alleged to have begun at 5pm when the attackers assaulted the two banks and began shooting to make their escape after stealing an unidentified amount of money.
 
 
According to PUNCH, operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) engaged the robbers in an exchange of gunfire.
 
 
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to contact the state police command for a response were futile.
 
 
Several calls to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, went unanswered.
 
 
Also, efforts to contact the Kogi State Security Adviser, Jerry Omadara, proved futile because his line could not be reached.
