Police Begin Probe As Two RENI Nigeria Limited Workers, Electrician Are Electrocuted In Abuja

Two staff members of RENI Nigeria Limited have been electrocuted while conducting trans drilling across the road at Wuse 2 area of the Federal Capital Territory.

A source told SaharaReporters that they were rushed to Wuse General Hospital Abuja but one of the victims simply identified as John did not make it.

 

"He was pronounced dead by the doctors on duty while his corpse was deposited in the hospital morgue.

 

"The second victim identified as Abdurashid Mohammed is currently hospitalised in the same hospital," the source said.

 

Similarly, a man identified as Gabriel Ogonu, an electrician was electrocuted while working on an Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) transformer in the Maitama area of the Federal Capital Territory.

 

SaharaReporters gathered that the deceased was invited by one Mama Grace Ekpiwhre, 75, to her residence at Panama Street, Maitama to fix her light but was electrocuted.

 

Sources told SaharaReporters that AEDC officials had removed the body and taken it to Maitama District Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by doctors.

 

The FCT Police PRO, SP Josephine Adeh who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters said the command had commenced an investigation into the deaths.

 

"Yes, it's true, investigation has commenced," she said.
