Foreign Governments Don’t Mean Well; Boko Haram Would Have Been Quashed If Foreign Governments Wanted To Help Nigeria –Bwala

Bwala asserted that Nigeria is currently battling an economic crisis. He urged the government not to take the offer from any foreign government seriously because they do not mean well.

A spokesman for the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr Daniel Bwala on Friday accused foreign governments of using the current insecurity problem in Nigeria to barter for their interests in diplomatic agreements with the Nigerian Government.

Mr Bwala said this while appearing on a morning programme on Arise News TV monitored by SaharaReporters on Friday.

He warned President Bola Tinubu to apply local solutions to the incessant kidnap cases in the country.

SaharaReporters had reported that the United States government condemned last week’s abduction of scores of schoolchildren and others in Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria.

The US Mission in Nigeria on its official X page on Saturday also condemned the abduction of internally displaced persons in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

Over 100 IDPs were recently kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

The US authorities also offered their support to the Nigerian government towards rescuing the abducted victims.

Reacting to this, Bwala asserted that Nigeria is currently battling an economic crisis. He urged the government not to take the offer from any foreign government seriously because they do not mean well.

He added that the gangs of terrorists kidnapping schoolchildren and other residents were being used as tools to perpetrate the crime.

He said, “These problems confronting us is local and our solution is local. Even the notion that some international partners are opting to help us, these foreign governments often use that as a ploy to negotiate their interests, they never mean well, and they will never suffer our problem, because our problems are local.

“To juxtapose my point when a missionary was abducted and an American citizen, you see that American forces came and rescued the person. If they really wanted to help us from when Boko Haram started till today, we would have been able to deal decisively with Boko Haram.

“Why did I say our problem is local? This emerging issue of kidnapping is a crisis economy, and this guy you see in the bush and mere missionaries, the real perpetrators are in town, some of them in government agencies, some of them in the banking, some of them in financial and other interests.”
