Musa said that as long as there was no peace, nobody would like to do business in Kaduna, but noted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) were working tirelessly to secure the country, states and the entire citizens.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen Christopher Musa, on Monday paid a condolence visit to the Kaduna State Government to commensurate on the recent abduction of over 200 students in Kuriga Community of the state.
The CDS who also met with community leaders in the state said that individuals who were not happy with the Governor Uba Sani-led state government would like to cause rancour, noting that the state was passing through a trying time.
Musa said that as long as there was no peace, nobody would like to do business in Kaduna, but noted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) were working tirelessly to secure the country, states and the entire citizens.
He described the kidnapped children as leaders of tomorrow who must be rescued and assured the state Governor, Sani, of the AFN's resolve to secure the country.
Addressing the Kuriga community leaders, the CDS described the abduction of the children as unfortunate, adding that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is doing everything humanly possible to bring the kidnapped children back safely and to bring the perpetrators to book.
He further said that President Bola Tinubu had also given directives to the AFN to ensure the children were back safely and healthy
He therefore charged the community leaders to aid the military in order to track the kidnappers, maintaining that the community understood the terrain fully.
During the visit, the community leaders called for more proactive action to curb the menace of kidnappings and other criminalities in the country.
Also, Governor Sani thanked the CDS for coming, saying that a lot is being achieved through the cordial working relationship with the AFN and other security agencies.
The governor also thanked the community leaders for their overall support since the unfortunate incident occurred, adding that the state is working with volunteers to ensure support for the victims’ parents in order to ease their present trauma.
He further assured that the state government will continue to work with the military and sister agencies to get the abducted children back safely.
