Terrorists had released the pupils abducted from Kuriga in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria.

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has renewed its call on the Nigerian government and security operatives to remain on their toes until all other students and vulnerable Nigerians being held captive by terrorists are freed and communities prone to attacks are securely protected.

Terrorists had released the pupils abducted from Kuriga in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria.

The schoolchildren, aged five to 18 were abducted on March 7 from Kuriga primary and secondary schools in the state.

However, CNG in a statement signed by its national coordinator, Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, on Monday, expressed delight over the release of schoolchildren abducted by bandits in Kuriga, Kaduna State.

It also commended the relevant bodies and individuals that worked hard to ensure the safe release of the pupils.

According to the statement, the group said it had been clamouring for a multi-dimensional approach to tackling the monster of insecurity through collaborative engagement that involves teaming up with security forces, general public and other designated critical stakeholders to get rid of the menace from the communities.

The statement reads in part; "The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) joins parents and other well-meaning Nigerians in welcoming the release of Kuriga primary school pupils.

"The CNG, therefore, renews its call on the government and security operatives to remain on their toes until all other students and vulnerable Nigerians being held captives by bandits are freed and communities prone to attacks are securely protected.

"Regrettably, the CNG observed spikes of attacks recently in Katsina and Zamfara states where terrorists continue to unleash mayhem and destruction on our people. We are reiterating our call to the concerned state governors to redouble their efforts and work closely with the Federal Government to address the surge in violent attacks against innocent citizens in their communities.

"In light of these developments, the CNG urges all stakeholders to remain vigilant and continue working towards ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the hotline areas.

"We at the CNG have been clamoring for a multidimensional approach to tackling the monster of insecurity through collaborative engagement that involves teaming up with security forces, general public and other designated critical stakeholders to get rid of the menace from our communities.

"Therefore, the CNG reiterates its commitment to promoting peace, unity, and development throughout the region, as well as advocating for policies that prioritize the welfare of the most vulnerable members of society."
