Imo Governor Uzodinma Condemns Multiple Abandoned Projects By Niger Delta Commission, NDDC, Calls For Audit

Governor Uzodinma, made the condemnation on Tuesday when he hosted the Minister for Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, and his team.
 

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has condemned what he described as  the alarming rate of abandoned projects by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

Governor Uzodinma, made the condemnation on Tuesday when he hosted the Minister for Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, and his team.

The governor called for a comprehensive audit of the abandoned projects to expedite their recommencement, stressing that it has become imperative for the development and prosperity of Imo State that the abandoned projects are swiftly completed.

He said, “Recall that I recently signed an MoU with the Commission of the Ministry for the completion of these projects.”

Governor Uzodinma who emphasised the urgency for their completion said, "I want to use this opportunity to call for a comprehensive audit of all abandoned projects, not only in Imo state but in the region, with a view to taking steps that will complete these projects that are littered.

"Some of them are so gigantic in nature that if completed and put into use, will be value addition to the society and the people of Niger Delta will be very encouraged."
