The Nigerian Defence Headquarters on Thursday released the names of terrorist leaders killed in the Northern region of the country by troops of the Nigerian military.

The Director Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, who revealed the names to journalists during a press briefing in Abuja said that the terrorist commanders were killed in separate operations between January and March.

Releasing the names of the terrorist commanders from both the Islamic State's West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram, Buba said that other terrorist fighters and their commanders who were at large were merely walking corpses as the troops would kill them.

According to Buba, the terrorist commanders killed by troops include the Head of Is-Al Furqan Province (ISGS and ISWAP), Abu Bilal Minuki, also known as Abubakar Mainok; Haruna Isiya Boderi, whom he said was a notorious terrorist who operated along Birnin Gwari Forest in Kaduna State as well as the Abuja Kaduna Highway.

Buba said Boderi was killed by troops on February 21.

Also, Kachallah Damina, was killed alongside over 50 combatants on March 24. Buba listed other terrorist leaders killed as Kachallah Alhaji Dayi, Kachallah Idi, alias Namaidaro; Kachallah Kabiru, alias Doka; Kachallah Azarailu, alias Farin-Ruwa; Kachallah Balejo; Ubangida, Alhaji Baldu among several others.

“I must say this, those other fighters, leaders that are out there, they are walking corpses because sooner than later, they will meet their end.

“We achieved this fit through synchronised operations between ground forces, the air force,” he said.
