Terrorists Reportedly Kill Scores Of People, Burn Houses In Fresh Attack On Kogi Community

It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the community during the early hours of Friday and killed scores of residents.

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed a fresh attack on Agojeju-Odo, a community in the Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State by suspected terrorists.

 

The spokesperson for the state police command, SP William Aya confirmed this during a telephone conversation with The PUNCH on Friday morning.

 

It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the community during the early hours of Friday and killed scores of residents.

 

A source from the community also claimed that several houses and other valuable properties were burnt by the gunmen during the attack.

 

Giving an update on the incident, SP William Aya, disclosed further that the state police commissioner, Bethrand Onuoha had deployed tactical teams to the area.

 

He said, “Yes, there was an attack in the village in Omala. The CP has deployed the enforcement team along with other security agencies.”
