President Bola Tinubu has commended the Special Investigator of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other related entities, Jim Obazee, for the conclusion of the apex and other related entities probe.
The former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), started the investigation after his appointment on July 28, 2023.
President Tinubu in a statement issued on Friday by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, applauded Obazee for what the President described as his dedication and professionalism exhibited in handling the complexities of the critical national assignment.
The statement added that with the conclusion of the assignment and the submission of a final comprehensive report, and with the winding up of all apparatuses used during the scope of the task which terminated on March 31, 2024, the investigation has formally been closed.
All the appropriate law enforcement and regulatory agencies are already said to be conducting follow-up action.
According to the statement, President Tinubu extolled Obazee for answering the call of duty and wished him success in his future endeavours.
