Nigerian Police Arrest Adamawa Resident Who Killed Wife For Taking His Phone Without Consent

The statement claimed that the deceased complained that Hajara took his mobile phone without his consent and this made him stab her in the back which resulted in her death. 

A Nigerian man identified as Ibrahim Abubakar has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly killing his wife.

 

This was disclosed in a press release issued by the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya, adding that the deceased, Hajara Sa'adu was killed by the arrested suspect after a misunderstanding ensued between them. 

 

The statement claimed that the deceased complained that Hajara took his mobile phone without his consent and this made him stab her in the back which resulted in her death. 

 

The statement read: “The Adamawa State Police Command on 8/4/2024, apprehended a 33 years old man, for stabbing to death his 25years old wife Hajara Sa'adu.

 

“The suspect, Ibrahim Abubakar, a butcher and resident of Sabon Gari-Futy in Girei local Government Area subdued the deceased, by stabbing her severally with a sharp knife on her back thereby causing her severe injuries and left her in a pool of blood.

 

“The suspect brutally killed the deceased on the 8/4/2024 at about 04:30 am, after he accused her of taking away his phone that led to little arguments.

 

“The suspect was apprehended following the report made to police by the father of the deceased and preliminary investigation conducted leading to the recovery of material evidences at the scene of the crime which is linked to him (husband now suspect).

 

“Interestingly, the suspect voluntarily made a confessional statement, adding that that he regretted killing the mother of their only child.

 

“The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, while expressing disappointment over the unfortunate incident, assured that the Command will diligently prosecute the culprit.

 

“Meanwhile, as part of the command's effort in tackling Criminal activities and other related offences in the state, the CP has directed Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID to investigate beyond and ensure law takes it course.

 

“He equally calls on the citizens to always report people of suspicious character around their neighbourhood to the police.”
