Former Nigerian Lawmaker And Son Of Kogi Ex-Governor, Mohammed Idris Dies After Eid Prayer In Abuja

Mohammed, who was the son of a former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris died on Wednesday shortly after he observed Eid-il-Fitir prayer in Abuja.

Hon. Mohammed Idris, a former member of the House of Representatives has died.

Mohammed, who was the son of a former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris died on Wednesday shortly after he observed Eid-il-Fitir prayer in Abuja.

The former lawmaker reportedly slumped at his house in Abuja.

Before his death, Mohammed represented Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala Federal Constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

He will be buried according to Islamic rites at Gudu cemetery in Abuja.

 

SaharaReporters earlier reported the death of a traditional ruler, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom in Lagos State, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka.

The monarch, aged 64, also died shortly after returning home from the Eid prayer ground on Wednesday.

The chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olasoju Adebayo, confirmed the passing of the monarch in a statement, announcing that the monarch would be “buried today by 4pm at his palace, 3/5 Akinbaye Street, Isolo, according to Islamic rites”.

 

Adebayo said he had Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive to “formally announce the passing of the paramount ruler of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, Adeola Olushi III, today April 10, 2024”.
