Nigerian Agency, NEMA Confirms Recovery Of One Corpse From Lagos Lagoon

Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator, NEMA, made this known in a statement in Lagos State.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Friday confirmed the recovery of the body of a male passenger that drowned having fallen into the Lagoon from the bus that crashed on the Third Mainland Bridge on Wednesday.

 

Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator, NEMA, made this known in a statement in Lagos State.

Farinloye said the Marine Police recovered the body close to the scene of the accident.

 

While narrating what led to the drowning of the two passengers on Wednesday, the NEMA official said, “A fatal crash involving a LT 18 SEATER registration number FKJ 872 YA occurred by Adeniyi Adele axis inward Lagos Island.

“On a very high speed swerved off the road and hit bridge rails and caused the 2 passengers flung off into the lagoon. The victims, an adult male and female are being search by the Marine Police.”

The agency had added that search and rescue was ongoing to recover the body of the female passenger.

NEMA on Tuesday said a total of 14 buildings were destroyed by the inferno which occurred at the popular Dosunmu market on Lagos Island, Lagos State.

 

This incident came barely 24 hours after an inferno razed 14 buildings at the popular Dosunmu market in Lagos State.
