They noted that there was also widespread violence apart from the non-availability of election materials.

Some All Progressives Congress (APC) women delegates in Irele town, who were billed to vote in Saturday's Ondo State governorship primary have protested that there was no election in their areas and hence, the exercise should be cancelled.

The women protesters in videos obtained by SaharaReporters on Sunday displayed their voter's slip and also carried placards, while asserting that there was no primary election in Irele Ward 1.

They noted that there was also widespread violence apart from the non-availability of election materials.

SaharaReporters earlier reported on Saturday that some of the stakeholders in the APC governorship primary election in Ondo State cried foul over how the election committee handled the electoral process.

The aggrieved party members had stated that the committee which was headed by the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, was biased in the assignment.

It had also been reported that violence broke out before the polls at Ward 1 at Stella Maris College, Okitipupa area of the state.

Speaking further on Sunday, one of the stakeholders said, "Recent events within the ruling party have raised concerns about the state of affairs and the leadership at play.

"The governorship primary elections in Edo and Ondo orchestrated under Abdullahi Ganduje are an exercise in disarray, corruption, and discord, casting a shadow on the future of APC.

"There is no fair play in the primary elections; instead of fair play, there are malpractices, manipulation, and power plays here and there."

"The stewardship of Ganduje is a hotbed of corruption and disarray. Tinubu must wake up to the realities at hand and save this party from Ganduje.

"Tinubu must heed this call to action, and prevail on the APC leadership to organise an unbiased and fair governorship primary in Ondo."

SaharaReporters also reported that a female aspirant in the APC governorship primary demanded the cancellation of the poll over alleged irregularities.

Mrs Folakemi Omogoroye had made this known in a press statement she issued to journalists on Sunday, alleging that the election did not take place as anticipated on Saturday.

"There was no election anywhere,” she had said.

She described what was conducted in the state as a "complete rape of democracy."
