Nigeria Police Dispatch ‘Seasoned Officers’ To Investigate Cases Of Bullying At Abuja Lead British International School

The school in a statement issued on Tuesday said an investigation had begun into the cases of bullying of students by their colleagues.

Nigeria police say they have dispatched seasoned officers to Lead British International School grounds to conduct inquiries into the reported cases of bullying.

An X user @mooyeeeeeee posted two videos on Monday where the victim she identified as Maryam Hassan was repeatedly assaulted by another female student, thereby seeking justice.

The school in a statement issued on Tuesday said an investigation had begun into the cases of bullying of students by their colleagues.

It also said that the counselling unit of the school was helping the victimised student overcome the emotional and psychological impact.

However, SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer for the Federal Capital Territory Command in a statement on Tuesday, said the command has deployed seasoned officers to the school premises for investigation and to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order.

“In a proactive response to alarms raised by some members of the public regarding videos circulating on social media depicting the bullying of students at the above mentioned school.

"The FCT Police Command is on top of the situation and has deployed seasoned officers to the school premises for investigations and to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order,” she said.
