The party disclosed this at the weekend in Abuja during a public hearing and launch of ‘Operation Hutu Dole Campaign’ organised by the Gwagwalada chapter of the party.

The African Action Congress (AAC) has accused the Chairman of the Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri of incompetence and lack of direction in piloting the affairs of the council.

The party disclosed this at the weekend in Abuja during a public hearing and launch of ‘Operation Hutu Dole Campaign’ organised by the Gwagwalada chapter of the party.

The party also vowed to take over the area council in the next election, saying it is time to rescue the council and inject fresh ideas to move the area forward.

‘Operation Hutu Dole’ is aimed at raising awareness of the need for fresh ideas in piloting the affairs of the council to bring much-needed development to the people of the area.

Speaking at the event, the AAC chairmanship aspirant, Baba Nwada Balami lamented the dearth of infrastructure such as electricity, good roads, healthcare, and recreational centres in the area.  He attributed the suffering and hardship confronting the residents to a lack of competent leadership and massive corruption in the area council.

He accused the chairman of being insensitive to the plight of the people and running a government without transparency and accountability.

He said, “We want electricity, Gwagwalada is too hot for us. We are suffering heat rashes and we can't endure it anymore. Since they gave birth to us, we don't know what is going on in the area council.

“We don't know the allocation they are collecting, we don't know anything about the internally generated revenue of the area council.

“But by the grace of God under ‘Operation Hutu Dole’, we will make everything transparent. We will provide jobs, healthcare, roads, and infrastructure.”

The Chairman of the party in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Agena Robert Ande said the slogan of the party ‘Take It Back Movement’ is a global movement saddled with the responsibility of correcting and curtailing the excesses, impunity, and bad governance in the world.

He called on the party supporters to brace themselves, show more commitment to voter registration, and ensure they are all registered to surmount the challenges ahead.

Agena stressed that politics is a game of numbers and the party must show its numerical strength to take over the mantle of leadership in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Nigeria as a whole.

He said AAC has been the only party leading the campaign for youth participation and inclusion in politics because the future of the county is in their hands.

He therefore urged members to reach out and encourage others to join the party and ensure Balami takes the council to greater heights with fresh ideas and innovation.

The participants also used the occasion to stage a rally to create awareness of the need to vote and kick out outdated politicians with archaic ideas.

Meanwhile, the party also used the opportunity to condemn the arrest of the Oyo State Chairman of the party during the local government area election in the state and accused the state governor, Seyi Makinde of using police to intimidate opposition to rig the election.

“The government cannot be using our police to intimidate and harass the public for their selfishness. We call on the commissioner of police in Oyo and the state governor to ensure that the AAC, Oyo State Chairman is released with immediate effect and allowed to do his work as the party chairman in the state,” Agena added.
