Police Arrest Two Kidnap Suspects In Adamawa Who Killed Six-Year-Old Victim After Demanding N10million

Mohammed and Suleiman reportedly kidnapped the kid, Ebuka Edwin at Tudun Wada village in the Ganye local government area of the state and killed him after collecting N152,000 for his feeding, according to a statement by the police.

Two suspected kidnappers, Mukhtar Mohammed, 20, and Husseini Suleiman, 20, have been arrested for kidnapping and killing a six-year-old victim in Adamawa State. 

 

Mohammed and Suleiman reportedly kidnapped the kid, Ebuka Edwin at Tudun Wada village in the Ganye local government area of the state and killed him after collecting N152,000 for his feeding, according to a statement by the police.

 

The spokesperson for the Adamawa State command, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday in Yola, the state capital.

 

"Adamawa State Police Command, On 08/05/2024 received report from Edwin Eze, a resident of Tudun Wada in Ganye LGA, that on the same date at about 1am Kidnappers invaded his house situated at Tudun Wada village, Ganye LGA and Kidnapped his 6 year old Son, Eboka Edwin to unknown destination. 

 

"The kidnappers later called via GSM and demanded N10,000,000 as ransom. The suspects equally demanded and received N152,000 from the complainant for the victim's feeding fee.

 

"On the strength of that, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Dankombo Morris, raised detectives led by SP Mohammed Yahaya Nuhu, Divisional Police officer, Ganye, to rescue the victim and arrest the suspects.

 

"The team immediately swung into action and arrested two suspects, Muktar Mohammed, aged 20 years old and Hussein Suleiman, aged 20 years, all residents of Bashin village, Yoro local government area, Taraba State.

 

"During preliminary investigations, the suspects confessed that they conspired and jointly kidnapped the victim to a forest lying across the border between Nigeria and Cameroon Republic.

 

"They added that they killed the victim by inflicting severe injuries on him using a knife; he bled until he became dead. Thereafter, they buried the corpse in a shallow grave and kept demanding for ransom, until their arrest."

 

"While the CP commiserates with the deceased family on the unfortunate incident, he reaffirms the command's commitment to combating all forms of crimes.

 

"The CP assured that the suspects would be investigated and diligently prosecuted," Nguroje said.
